Staff Builds: Black Diamond

All this week, we’ll be bringing you our builds for each trim of the 2021 Ford Bronco. @david in the forums and @dwrock, your friendly Bronco Nation support and fulfillment associate, will each bring a build to the table with a different theme. We aren’t experts and this isn’t a list of recommendations, it’s just a couple Bronco fans dreaming up some rigs.

@david took the Base Build but got roundly spanked on the Big Bend, today we continue with the Black Diamond.

@David: The Stock Horse

In the race to find the true “Enthusiast Trim” for Bronco, Black Diamond is the dark horse. It’s a decent value and includes so much that makes Badlands the front runner. So, I went the more efficient route and didn’t do a darned thing to it because who has time for sorting through a bunch of options?

It’s Shadow Black and understated. It’s already got rock rails and upgraded bash plates. It already has the Heavy Duty Modular Front Bumper. Yeah, I don’t have the big engine or a fancy 10-Speed automatic transmission, but the 7-Speed is fine, and I’ve got a crawler gear. I don’t need paint protection film, this thing isn’t going to patina itself. Sure, all that bigfoot stuff is cool, but I can’t be bothered to check another box. Yeah, and I’m under $650 a month too.

@dwrock: The Tailgater

I know it’s been a while since any of us have been to a sporting event, or any event for that matter. But eventually things will open, and the Bronco could make a great tailgating rig.

You gotta’ have a something that catches attention when tailgating, so I chose Velocity Blue for the paint finish, which pairs nicely with some of the color accents in the Black Diamond. Along with the 17” Black High Gloss Wheels, it’ll be a sharp looker.

I opted for the 2.7 Ecoboost again, because when you’re sharing the details of your rig while grilling and tailgating, the last thing you want to say to a fella is, “Yeah, I got the smaller engine”.

Bronco has a lot of accessories available on the B&P, and one really stands out as a must have for this build, the Yakima Retractable Awning. This’ll provide some coverage while chilling and grilling before the game. All of that brings this Bronco Black Diamond example to $761 a month*.
