BREAKING NEWS: FORD DELAYS BRONCO DELIVERY

December 04, 2020
By: The Bronco Nation

Today Ford is set to announce delays in the delivery of the new full-size 2021 Bronco.

This news out of Dearborn was shared as part of a communication with Ford dealers to prepare Bronco Specialists and Dealer Principals to adjust customers’ timing expectations. Originally rumored to begin December 7, the announcement pushes the full-size Bronco order bank back by roughly one month.

COVID-19 has impacted many industries across the country over the past months, and Ford confirms the auto industry is no exception. Here is the statement from Ford delivered to dealers today:

Bronco Specialists & Dealer Principals,

We know customers are excited to get their new Bronco and we are committed to delivering a high-quality product as soon as we can. We are announcing soon a timing change driven by COVID 19 challenges that some of our suppliers are experiencing. The timing changes are listed below.

  • Order bank open will move from December to mid-January
  • Order conversion window will shift to mid-January through March
  • Initial 21MY dealer allocation forecasts will now be provided in early January (ahead of the order bank open).
  • Manual transmission with Sasquatch package is now planned to be introduced late next year as a 22MY option
  • Customer deliveries will begin in Summer 2021

In addition to these timing changes the team continues to actively listen to customer requests and as a result we will offer a new black interior to First Edition customers (more details to follow).

To thank our Bronco reservation holders for their patience we have created a customer appreciation program which will provide FordPass Rewards points for use towards the purchase of Bronco accessories.

A customer communication with these timing changes and details about the FordPass Rewards offer will be forthcoming, however we wanted to ensure you were aware of these changes first.

If you have any questions, please email Bronco@Ford.com or contact your Ford Regional Management Team.

Sincerely,

The Ford Bronco Team

While Ford has not yet revealed the specific day production will begin, Spring 2021 remains the official start of the full-size Bronco’s production timeline. And it appears customers may expect their deliveries next Summer.

Sasquatch Update: The statement also confirms more details regarding the ability to combine manual transmission with the Sasquatch package. An option originally unavailable at launch, Ford recently confirmed its intention to offer this combination in late 2021 after listening to feedback from reservation holders. We now expect this feature to be available in 2022MY.

FordPass Reward: Finally, Ford includes a gesture of thanks to the more than 190,000 reservation holders of the new Bronco. For their patience, Ford intends to offer complimentary FordPass Rewards points that can be used to purchase Bronco accessories.  For more information please go check out https://www.ford.com/fordpass/
