The 2021 Ford Bronco Outer Banks will have you off-roading in style. Jordan walks the community through this trim level while at Super Celebration (East). This 2-door Sasquatch package Antimatter Blue shows off the OBX’s standard glass black grille design. The headlamps feature the halo and bar style, but as a reminder, all 2021 Bronco headlights, no matter the design, are LED as standard. This pre-production Bronco has the former-style safari bar on the front, so this and possibly a few other elements may be different than what will be soon parked in your driveway.
The upgraded modular heavy duty front bumper spans the front. It still allows for parking sensors, but if you get it, you’re passing by the fog lights option on the standard bumper.
Since this Bronco is Sasquatch equipped, it has the 17” beadlock capable wheels with 35” tires. If it weren’t Sasquatched, you would be getting 18” machined aluminum gloss black set with 32” tires. Standard fender flares on the Outer Banks are body-colored painted. Both standard OBX and SASed OBX Broncos come with powder-coated tube steps.
Mirror caps on the Outer Banks are also body-color matched. Moving along the exterior, you’ll see the improved appearance of the pre-production molded in color (MIC) hardtop. This Sasquatch package OBX has the aftermarket roof rails as an accessory, which doesn’t make removing the hardtop difficult –– they just add a few more steps.
The 2-door model is a fan favorite … as is the 4-door model, really –– however, a “downside” of the 2 door is that you can’t store the doors in the back as you can with the 4 door. You still get the Bronco door bags, nonetheless.
Heading to the rear of the vehicle, you’ll see the premium taillights with the C-shape design and the rear bumper with sensors.
Inside, the OBX is packed with comforts (including six total USB and USC ports and a total of six power points). It also has the most interior options: two leather and two cloth –– Navy Pier and Roast. The wireless charging pad holds even the largest of phones. Up on the dashboard, you’ll see the hero switches. Missing on the Outer Banks is the stabilizer (stay-bar) disconnect, an option not available on this trim.
Under the hood: The Outer Banks is available with the 2.3L or the 2.7L. When it comes to transmissions, however, only the 10-speed automatic is an option.
